Hi,

I am trying to set up a hyperterminal session through Com 1 but I receive the error message "Anothe program is using the selected Telephony device. Trying waiting until the other program completes". I have no idea what program is using Com 1 - presumably something grabs it on startup. Can anyone suggest how I can found out what is using Com 1 and stop it? With thanks.

You on dialup for Internet access?

Have a modem enabled on your system?

Hi Louis,

Sincere apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

I do have a modem although I never use it as I connect to the Internet through a Linksys router. Therefore I disabled the modem in DM and, Lo and Behold, was able to make my HyperTerminal connection.

With many thanks and best wishes,

CluelessNI
