Whats the difference between a regular PCI port and a PCI x16 express port? Im building a computer and the MoBo has 2 PCI x16 express ports and 2 regular PCI ports


And would it make a difference of witch PcI I put it into?


or...

What would I have to do with theese, witch one goes into the express

PCI is the regular slot the you would put a sound card, modem, or any other type of add-on card. PCI-E (express) is for a video card. The 2 slots are not the same. Cards will not fit the incorrect slot

The big difference between the two is speed, the PCI-E X16 has a bandwidth of 4000 MB per second where the normal PCI is 132 MB per second.
