Hello,

Just wondering if anyone else was experiencing the problem and/or knows what it is...
At X:58-Y:02 the site becomes unresponsive; if I am trying to navigate to another page within the BC site, the browser mostly stays on the same page and waits. It doesn't timeout or say sorry the page you requested... etc, it just stays on the same page, clicking the link I want to go to doesn't do anything, but the second I click a link after Y:02 the page is displayed.

To answer some questions before they are asked...

I'm on a brand new system, no faults, security/router are fine.
The connection is fine, and has no problems.
Internet settings cookies/temp files are fine.
Have experienced this problem on two seperate systems on two seperate high speed networks.

Any thoughts?

Alan

Thats strange, There are two things I can think of that would explain it...

1 the server holding the site performs an index and backup.
2 the server is updating itself.

I have never experienced this problem on any other site.

Hey nigglesnush85 -

What time of day is this hapening to you.

I believe the board does an auto-backup at 10am US EST every day.

It happens on some hours and is fine on others. This is going to be difficult with time zones and so on, the last time it happened was at 10:58-11:02PM GMT

If I may be of assistance:
10:58:00 p.m. Thursday January 24, 2008 in GMT converts to
05:58:00 p.m. Thursday January 24, 2008 in America/New_York
Daylight Saving Time is not in effect on this date/time in GMT
Daylight Saving Time is not in effect on this date/time in America/New_York

I dont like time zones, but If the board backs up at 10am EST and this case happened at 6pm EST then this doesn't look like the backup is the problem.

"3PM GMT" - is 10:00a.m. EST USA.

Board backups occur several times during a day.

I even see server backups from my local ISP here in the Easter USA.

Mark the times it occurs and come to expect a few minutes stall then?
(Not to be a smart one here.)

If the board does a backup every few hours, that would explain the problem.

As a slight aside -

it is great that the board is being backed up as often as it is, even if it does cause a slight delay a few times each day.

I, for one, certainly appreciate it.

An extra 4 or 5 minutes every few hours is a fair price to pay.
