Hi, folks. This is my first post here, other than intro. I have downloaded and installed FF successfully 3 times now and all is well at initial opening of said browser. Unfortunately, FF stops working after this. It takes time to initialize and when it does there is no Google on main page and no response to task bar commands. In other words, the cursor elicits no response when scrolled over file, edit, etc.....No response anywhere else on page at all. I have to red x to exit.

This has happened after uninstall and installs, switching version to 1.0.1 cleaning up orphans with bleep cleaner, getting rid of traces of spyware and defrag.

I have other browsers; Maxthon, IE, SBCYahoo etc. All these work perfectly. I wonder if it might be that wome security settings are intefereing with FF (don't see how considering all else works fine).

Anyone want to throw their hat at this? dance.gif

When uninstalling Firefox, you will need to delete your Profile folder.
This file isn't removed when you uninstall Firefox. It will retain all of your previous settings,
and re-apply them to your new install.

Set windows to show hidden files, then navigate to:

C:\ Documents and Settings \ user name \ Application Data \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles
Delete this folder (or send it to the Recycle Bin as a backup), and then try reinstalling Firefox.
