Lately, after downloading the latest AD-Aware updates, the next time I open the program, I receive a popup saying ""Your definitions are (some number, such as 17) days old. Would you like to check for updates now?" So I check for updates, but there are none. Any thoughts on why this is occurring? blink.gif

Hi:

I have been getting the same thing, and I check once a day. I think It's just a glitch in the program right now.

It must be a temporary bug: I updated, and then tried again, and the same 17 days old message showed up. You might want to do a manual installation of the latest update and see if that will solve the problem,
Regards,
John

I had to manually update Ad-Aware SE1R29 05.03.2005. I tried 5 times and would go thru the motions, but never did update, stayed at SE1R28. Went to Lavasoft forum and found this:

Scroll down to "Andy Veal" Mar 6 2005 12:49pm and follow his instructions.

Barb, boy did I get lucky! I was all ready to do the manual update thing, following the Lavasoft link you provided, but decided to try it the regular way (thru my desktop shortcut). Bingo! Am all updated. Thanks!

It appears that whatever was causing the problem has been fixed by Lavasoft, since my update today went normally.
Cheers,
John
