Help
Whenever I try to watch a video on a webpage, I get the full audio but my screen is green. I'm not familiar with codecs and I'm wondering if that is the problem

Do you use Windows Media Player to open file on webpage? That seems that you don't have a right codec for media files. Download this codec pack http://www.codecguide.com/download_mega.htm . Install it and you can play nearly all of media files.

Then please post a link of where you are trying to watch a video. Most viral video sites like Youtube use Flash but proprietary sites might use something else. And what browser are you using as it could be a browser compatibility issue. If you're trying to watch streaming video it's probably not a codecs issue but more info is needed to determine what the issue is.

It worked fine for me. It does use Windows Media so you may need a WMP update.

I actually have that installed. Its just seems to me that the certain videos are linked to an older WMP and not the new one. I can play all videos when it uses WMP 11 but I dont think some pages use WMP 11. Im not sure why.

Yeah, the player on the site is WMP11 but the clip itself is in Windows Media 9. Right click on the embedded player and go into properties and it will give you the codecs. You may be able to troubleshoot from there and get the missing codec at the Microsoft website. You might also want to contact the Giants website and get them to fix it from their end. They probably don't even know that the conflict can cause problems for some folks. Here's the link for the Windows Media codec troubleshooting page.

I think my videos are playing in windows media player classic, not the latest version. When I click on a clip the older version opens. How can I set my WMP to play at the latest version? This could be my problem

Are you talking about the video embedded on the Giants website or in general? If you open any Windows Media link, it will play on whatever version you have installed by default.
