I got a computer from someone a while back and just started to finally look at it. its basically brand new, and has almost no programs at all on it.....including a FIREWALL. I installed AOL to go online and on the sign on screen it said firewall not detected...so i went into the control panel and sure enough, theres not a firewall to be found, not even the regular old windows firewall. So I guess my 2 main questions are... 1) where the heck did it go? and 2) Where can I go to get another one? (possibly a free one?)

Interesting, I guess this is XP?
There may be a virus on the computer blocking access to the firewall.
Here are some programs you can download:
Avast! Antivirus Home Edition
Spybot Search & Destroy
Ad-aware 2007
And of course a firewall ZoneAlarm or Comodo Personal Firewall

Hope that helps!
