Please Print out these instructions or Copy and Paste this 'Fix' into Notepad for future reference as you will be required to closed down you browser when following these steps. Can you please place HijackThis into it's own folder, If we ever need to restore any Item then this folder will safely store all entries and enable us to then use the Back-up feature that Hijack This offers, If you want to keep the HijackThis program on the Desktop, right click an empty area, select New > Folder, name the folder HijackThis, Open up this new folder. Hold the Left Mouse Button down on the HijackThis.exe file and drag it into the open HijackThis Folder Once you have done that please download the OTMoveIt from here: http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/oldtimer/OTMoveIt.exe Save it to your desktop. Do not run it yet! Double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it. Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy): C:\WINDOWS\system32\amvo.exe Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste. Click the red Moveit! button. Close OTMoveIt If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. you will find a copy of the log at the root of the drive where OTMoveIt is installed, usually at : C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles\********_******.log (where "********_******" is the "date_time") Rescan with HijackThis and post the new log and the OTMoveIt log in your next reply Thank you. |

Thank you for moving HijackThis into it's own folder.  Can you please Print out these instructions or Copy and Paste this 'Fix' into Notepad for future reference as you will be required to closed down you browser when following these steps. Open HijackThis again, select "Do a System Scan only" and place a checkmark in the boxes before the following entries: O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FE37BE87-3218-4A7D-AD95-6BFE0C48E501} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\deskad.dll O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [amva] C:\WINDOWS\system32\amvo.exe Close any Explorer windows which may be open and click the "Fix checked" button, then exit HijackThis. Next Double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it. Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy): C:\WINDOWS\system32\deskad.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\amvo.exe I would like you to open OTMoveIt again, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste. Click the red Moveit! button. Close OTMoveIt If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. you will find a copy of the log at the root of the drive where OTMoveIt is installed, usually at : C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles\********_******.log (where "********_******" is the "date_time") Rescan with HijackThis and post the new log and the OTMoveIt log in your next reply Thank you. |
