You are running an outdated version of HijackThis.. Delete the copy you have and download the latest version of HijackThis!: Download here HJT 1.99.1. Save it on your Desktop. You will need now to unzip hijackthis.exe to a permanent folder, such as c:\hjt . This has to be done as HijackThis creates backups. You may need to use these backups.
First create a new folder: A. Click My Computer icon on your desktop B. Click C: drive C. Click the File menu --> New --> Folder, a folder "New folder" will be created. D. Rename it HJT Unzip hijackthis.exe to the c:\HJT folder. Please post a new hijackthis log. -------------------- |

Please Help! I followed all steps to remove the virus listed in the "topic description". updated all microsoft updates and all virus updates. ran adaware SE. ran spybot search and destroy. disabled system restore. i went into safe mode and ran virus scan. all files were clean. went back into normal mode and enabled system restore. everything seemed to be fine until i visited a website that i normally visit. this time there were red x's on pictures that you could normally see. and then i got an error message saying the following...

QUOTE Explorer.EXE-Application Error The instruction at "0x77f580db" referenced memory at "0x00000067". The memory could not be "written". Click On OK to Terminate Program. The error means that Explorer.EXE is trying to write to an area of memory that isn't allocated for it. It could be a software problem. I couldn't find a solution for you. I would call Microsoft for support. Your log looks clean. Due to inactivity, this thread will now be closed.
