I have Dell Demension 8200 that comes with a dual drive. One CD ROM, the other is a DVD player / CD ROM burner. The system came with XP and worked fine.

Recently, the windows update patch seemed to have interupted the DVD player / CD ROM burner. I try to enable it, but it won't recognize it. It is the NEC NC-7900A. It gives me the error code 22 in the Device Manager.

Please help.

Thanks

It worked. Thank you. I used the Device Manager to erase it, then Add New Hardware Wizard to reinstall it. Now I can burn my CD's again
