Update: Over the past four hours I have tried probably a hundred times to start it. I took the battery out and plugged it in and tried again after about 10 mins. Slowly but surely it would stay on longer and longer until it is running like normal. Why in the world did it do this and how do I keep it from doing this again? This is amazing...

Hmmm...another reason I don't have a laptop, hard to troubleshoot...you can try taking a look in Event Viewer and see if there are any clues (although I don't really expect any, other than a failure on system audit/Security category).

Is the battery hoding its charge, and are the contacts clean?
How does the laptop run in safe-mode (assuming you are using a windows OS)? Btw, I have a laptop that is very fickle about how the battery is clicked in. If its not installed "just-right", it wont even turn on. -------------------- Toshiba Satellite A135 OS: Vista Home Premium SP1 Processor: T2250 @ 1.73 GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.7 GHz RAM: 1526 MB Display: Mobile Intel® 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family |
