Mark, yes there is an uninstall folder. The uninstall is unsuccessful however.

I get that error message posted in the third post I believe.

Don't click delete just yet, it might ruin your AVG instalation,

Go to start and run type msconfig and select startup revove the check marks next to all AVG components
Then go to services.msc and double click on each entry named AVG set them to stop then from the dropdown box select disable then move to the recovery tab, make sure they are set to take no action

Now restart the system and AVG should no longer be running at all, check the Taskmanager to make sure, then we can move on to deleting the remains.
Regards,

Alan.

Okay, followed those instructions, restarted after. I see no AVG files in the task manager.

Let's proceed to uninstalling please.

I'll wait for further information on the best way to go about the uninstall.

Now that it is not running at all,
Create a system restore point and back up files,
you can remove the folder Grisoft in program files, then go to start and search type AVG or Grisoft, make sure it searches system files and hidden files too. Then proceed very carefully, go through the list and remove the ones that you are sure belong to AVG, If you are not sure, leave the file alone.

Download ccleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/ tell it to run, then you may need to edit the registry, you could let ccleaner do this for you, make sure to back up the registry before you proceed.
Regards,

Alan.

Alright! So I have made a system restore point.

When I go to remove the Grisoft file, I get an error about access. It states I don't have access to remove avgse.dll

Now, as for getting rid of the Grisoft file, there is a file that's locked on there. It's listed under the process path EXPLORER.exe and the path locked, is C:\ProgramFiles\Grisoft\AVG7\avgse.dll

As long as AVG is no longer running, you should be able to use the unlocker tool, right click on the grisoft folder in program files then select unlocker, if it displays any results, select unlock all this should allow you to delete the folder.

Alan.

Uninstall of AVG and it's components was succesful after folloing your steps. I was then able to reinstall my copy of PC-cillin. I had to empty the trash can first, but it worked fine after that. ^-^

Now I have other issues, but will make a new thread to better relate to the topic. Thank you for your help.
