I'm looking for a freeware reminder utility to pop up on my wife's computer and remind her it's time to update spybot/etc.

Which ones are safe to use? Anyone know?

Thanks!

I like Rainlendar, which is a desktop calendar. It has lots of possible configurations so it can be unobtrusive when you're not using it.

I found it by going through an impressive "Freeware Replacements For Common Commercial Apps" list maintained here at BC.

You can assume that any freeware listed in the BC Replacement post (linked to by Dialer) is malware free and used with success by at least some of our Members.
You are to be commended for asking, though; not enough people are careful about what they download and end up with problems, crashes, and malware on their computers.

John
