Hi! I'm planning on replacing my Canon printer soon. The roller sounds when the printer starts up doesn't have that smooth white noise whir anymore. Sounds a little irregular and a little squeaky, like a rusty joint, now. Anyway, this may be a sign of age but it still prints mighty fine (without any jams or irregularities). Think it will still last me a year? Because if it will, then I guess I'll just save this main question for when my printer really bites the dust....
Canon Pixma Ip1800 or HP Deskjet 2360?
Which is better, less prone to breakdowns and problems, and lasts longer? And why?
Both are of the same value here. Anyway, I'd love to hear some opinions and pls don't recommend other pricier models as I can't afford them yet. I just need this for basic printing and school reports.
Thanks!

Price the refill ink cartridges on both. That could make a big difference in your decision
In the beginning there was the command line.

If you are primarily going to be printing text...you ought to consider just using a mono laser printer (dirt cheap these days). Example:

FWIW: Refurbs come with the same warranty as new printers.
