I will be starting a Website soon and I would like to find out some of the best and most reliable Web hosts out there. I would also like a webhost that has a site builder that is easy to use and one that is flexible, and that someone who is Artistic could experiment/play with. I have looked at these but wondered if there are some more that have similar features. I would like to add that I also have front page (which is artistic – but does have limitations – I am told it is better than most webhosts – website building software. I also own a Web building software called “total website creator” by Cosmi. # 1 - http://www.inmotionhosting.com/hostingplans.html # 2 - http://www.ixwebhosting.com/index.php/v2/p...lanBusinessPlus # 3 -http://www.anhosting.com/december/package.php?f=november # 4 - http://www.siteground.com/ # 5 - http://www.hostmonster.com/hosting-features.htm Thanks Craig “Happy New Year” |

Hello Craig, and
I'm looking around for a host as well and have http://www.freehostia.com on my list. You might find some other possibilities in this thread: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic56092.html I can't say much about site-building software. I'm too cheap to buy a good program and too lazy to learn one anyway, so I just use good old Notepad or Notepad++. -------------------- |

Do you have experience with any of the following webhosts? I am specifically wondering how they handle bursts of high traffic (Diggs), whether I can host a forum (MySQL Databases) and if they are user-friendly to the "not-so-techie" webmaster.
I chose these 8 in particular because the first 5 seem to be very popular and the last three have, what appear to be, great features & a moneyback guarantee...but I am having trouble finding people who have used them. Anyone have some experience to share? Thanks in advance!! Sammy

[*]Dream Host: $5.95/mo (500GB) I recently had DreamHost. They've changed their plans around to where they only have, in essence, one, but it changes depending on payments. The $5.95 I believe is if you go like 10 years or something with a really long stretch of time. They are if you go month by month $9.95/mo. Least that's how it was when I left them a couple of months ago. I was into my second year with them at $6.95/mo, which is a plan no longer offered, but I was able to keep it that because I already had it. I was right, DreamHost works like this: $5.95/mo for 10 years in advance. $10.95/mo monthly, $9.95/mo for 1 year, $8.95/mo for 2 years, $7.95/mo for 3 years, $6.95/mo for 5 years. $49.95 set up fee if you pay monthly. I am with WebHostingPad now who is $5.95 if you pay for a year and $4.95 if you pay for 2 years. They do have a control panel that's set up like what Freewebs is, with theirs. It has a built in HTML-editor but I haven't played around with WebHostingPad's because I use Dreamweaver to create my sites. You get 1,700 GB of space, with 17,000 GB of monthly bandwith and you get the "installer" that will install like PHPBB forums and some other things I can't remember right off the top of my head, but I have enjoyed them so far.
