needless to say, my brother in law said he could "fix" our computer because it was running very slow so he came over and ran some spybot program and deleted everything that showed up. Later that night i tried to get into my EHD and i got an error stating "only part of a readprocessmemory or writeprocessmemory was completed". im wondering of an else has had this happen and what did you do to fix it.

Hi ima05mommy, and welcome to BleepingComputer.

This is strange, everything that I've read about this indicates that this error is related to the optical drive. Check out what M$ had to say bout this error.
