It appears that all services are "locked" (my word) on my PC. I have been trying to correct this since last Wednesday.

I am running Vista Ultimate (build 6000) on a HP. I have administator rights. I have UAC off.

The result is that I have to start MS Outlook in safe mode. I have had to reset IE to get it to work. MS Onecare will not load. I am unable to start Ad Aware or S&D to check for malware. I tried running in safe mode but got the message that they would not run. I can not print because the spooler service is not started and I can not start it.

Hijack this will not run. I was able to run it in safe mode but before submitting it I am hoping someone have an idea on how to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

On the chance that something in your Services is messed up, here's a link to a page with files available for resetting your services: http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/customREG.htm

Thanks John, I will look at this.

In addition, it seems that I have lost all administartive funtionality. What I mean is that I am un-able to do any funtions from with my account that require administrative authority and when I try to sign on to the administrator account It just sits at the welcome message and goes no where.

I'd have to suspect a virus or other malware is causing this. Try some free scans here:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

After that, I'd have to refer you to this forum for more help: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum103.html
