I successfully followed the instructions to remove a virus before posting a "HijackThis Log" and was able to remove the virus/spyware that was on my computer without having the post the log. However, in the process I evidently removed fonts as there was something imbedded within them. I do not want to do a system restore for fear that I will add a bunch of unnecessary stuff back into my computer. I tried reloading fronts from my XP disks but found that the ones that I had used in the past were not on that disk.

Is there somewhere to acquire my fonts again? Everything else on my computer is working wonderfully since my virus/spyware removal. I could live with it the way it is, but miss my pretty fonts.

You might want to check in the DLLCACHE file folder, there is a chance it may have saved there:

C:\windows\system32\dllcache

Hi CherylL,

If Cyb3r_Ninj@'s suggestion doesn't pan out for you, don't give up hope! There are literally hundreds - probably thousands :flowers: - of free fonts that you can download from a number of sites on the internet. Do you remember where you got the ones that you couldn't find on your disc?

You'll find a lot of sources in the results of this Google search.

If you don't know the names of the fonts you're looking for, WhatTheFont.com is a wonderful resource!

You might also benefit from checking a list of fonts required by Windows. This site also includes other useful info about fonts.

Hope this helps, and good luck to you!
