BleepingComputer.com: Flash9e.ocx Problems

I think I'm posting this is the correct forum. I apoligize if I'm not.

I keep getting this error when I am at a website that needs to use Adobe flash and then IE needs to close because of the error flash9e.ocx I can't figure out what the heck to do. I've looked stuff up on google but I don't understand how to fix the problem. I'm only finding out that others are having the same issue. Please help!

Please double-check to see if "flash93.ocx " is correct. "flash.ocx" is the correct file. When entering "flash93.ocx" in Google, nothing shows. That is usually and indication of an infection

It is flash9e.ocx I typed it incorrectly.

I'd uninstall it then redownload

I'm getting errors in IE6 SP1 only with one web site that I use regularly. The dw.log says

Microsoft Internet Explorer
Application Failure iexplore.exe 6.0.2800.1106 in flash9e.ocx 9.0.115.0 at offset 00055a77

I've uninstalled Adobe Flash Player ActiveX and reinstalled Flash Player 9.0.115.0 a few times but the error still keeps on showing.

I used to get the error on another web site I use regularly and that log said flash.ocx was causing the error so I downloaded Macromedia Flash Player 9.0.115.0 (IE). I installed it and that site has been working great, no errors.

Have you tried another browser such as Firefox?

Be on the safe side and do a restore point first
