Hi Everyone,
My Toshiba Tecra 9000 laptop lost sound suddenly a month ago. I can't pin it to any event. There is a "!" next to:
Intel® 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio Controller in Device Manager. Device Status: This Device cannot start (Code 10). My current audio driver is version 5.1.2535.0. When I attempt to install what I believe is the most recent driver (6.13.10.4104, I get:
"Yamaha AC-XG WDM
Setup failed to launch installation engine.
The RPC server is unavailable.
OK"
Every 10 days or so, the sound functions after startup, and of course the "!" is gone from Device Manager.
Any light you could shed on this situation would be very much appreciated.

You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the original, using the disk which came with it. When doing this, make sure to run your anti-virus program and anti-spyware program and restart your computer. This may help clear up the problem.
Also try uninstalling old first then installing the new.

How do I get help? Who is helping me?
