BleepingComputer.com: Bsod Vista Home Premium

hi everyone,

im having some problems with my pc .. when i bought this i never had any problems with it.. but then again the video was onboard so i never played any games and now i bought a 8500GT and i installed need for speed pro street but whenever i go about 4 mins into the game i get a bsod.

can anyone help me on this?

i even got the bsod when running memtest 3.3

i have 512x2mb ram
3.46ghz intel celeron D
8500GT 512mb

and i attached the debuglog i created from the minidump.

From what I can tell, it appears that the problem occurred in nfs.exe (usually associated with the game Need For Speed), and it had an error with the FDCFNT.SYS driver (which doesn't have a clear association to any program).

The error points to a fault in memory - and this error message can be associated with hardware problem (and most commonly with memory issues) http://aumha.org/a/stop.php#0x7f

So, IMO, it's likely to be one of 3 things:
1) A malware infection
2) A problem with the game Need For Speed
3) A hardware problem.

You can perform these free, online scans to rule out malware as an issue:

You can uninstall Need For Speed and see if this fixes the problem.

You can check the Reliability Monitor for more info about the errors by going to Start and type in "perf" (without the quotes) and press Enter, then click on Reliability Monitor in the left hand pane to see it.
