I have used Ewido for sometime until my dad tried to use it and Spysweeper stopped him saying that the installer had winspy.exe in it. Could this be a clash between programs or does ewidos free scan really have winspy.exe in it?

It's not called Ewido anymore. Grisoft bought it and it's now AVG Anti Spyware. To answer your question, I use AVG. A lot of guys here use it. It doesn't have any spyware.
