Windows Vista Anytime Upgrade

Bought new computer with windows vista home basic already installe. windows anytime upgrade cd came with. does this mean I can upgrade without buying? am new at the computer game and a lot I dont know :huh:

Yes but what is the spec of your machine.
Spec means I want to know the following:
Make
Model
OS
Ram
Hard Drive
DVD-RW
CD-RW
Etc.

Also which version of Vista will you be upgrading to, is it Home Premium or Ultimate. :huh:

Server 2 - 1.9GHz Intel P4, 385 MB Ram, 40GB HDD, DVD-ROM, Windows Server 2003 Standard

I agree with usasma, usually this CD's will give you a taste of the OS and then try to charge you a fee for you having it in most cases. I would ask if this Cd will be a trial version or the actual OS as usasma stated. I would call my manufacturer and inquire what will happen if the OS is changed. Usually when you do and you have an issue with a piece of hardware, tech will ask you to roll back to the OS the computer had when it was purchased to make sure the issue is not simple configuration. Also if there are drivers for the specific OS compatible with your LapTop.

I would get all the info from the company that sent you the CD before going into installing it.
