Hope you guys can help me out, the girlfriend is quizzing me over what she can get me for Xmas. To be honest I can't think of anything I want or need apart from a 40" LCD and I doubt she will buy that!

So wracking my brains, I decided that a new DVD writer and a 100 blank DVD's would be a good idea. According to her thats boring and geeky - so is buying handbags and shoes. Currently I have two DVD writers (one of which I plan to sell) but both are IDE and I have 6 empty SATA connections. Can any of you recommend a quality SATA DVD writer?

Cheers in advance. smile.gif

Were it me, I suggest asking her to take you out to a nice dinner or something that you could both enjoy...

the new samsung 203B is the top choice for a sata dvd burner, it is picky about what controller and drivers are used for the controller

intel and nvidia seem the safest, but even bios settings come into play

verbatim or taiyo yuden blanks are the best

as long as the present is for you?
