 Anyways,i just started working and finally got some money to build a computer.I was thinking of ordering a customizable pre-built one but I decided I really wanted to learn how to build it.I think I should be ok with the only problem I can actually see myself having is not knowing if the stuff I buy is compatible with each other.I want to make a computer that can handle games like Fury,Battlefield2142,Gears of War,etc.anything really except Crysis....Primarily for online gaming use.My budget is between about 1000-1500 and any website that lets you pay for parts overtime or a waiting period would allow be to expand that budget(Ie:60$ a month until its paid or no payments for 6 months type of thing) Before I go,any big differences between Quad and Duo?As in is there a big spike in the performance?Also,im a newb/idiot when it comes to all the technical stuff so sorry if I come off as stupid :D Heres what I guess im going for in terms of parts. Looks to me like the parts will all work together, but I'm not the real expert around here, as for a case I would suggest getting one that's tool less. Meaning you don't need any tools to install the drives and parts. You will NEED a fan and heatsink for your CPU, I suggest at least 2 case fans to help keep the interior of your case cool. One fan on the front drawing air in, and one in the back to exhaust the air.
Hang tight and I'm sure some of the people with a lot more knowledge about the parts will reply. Good luck, I think you'll find it's fun and more rewarding building your own.

One of the best features of 64-bit is that you can have more then 3.5gb of ram that 32-bit will only allow. Also, some of the newer processors like Quad Cores work better with 64-bit OS. A bad thing about it is some programs aren't really compatible with it, but I have 64-bit vsta, and all my games and programs work fine.
Thats a very nice system, but I think you'd be very disappointed in the graphics card, even if you had 2 in SLI. I'd say go with one of these even though they are pretty expensive:8800GT That is the list of all of them on Newegg. I'd say go with EVGA or XFX brand. --------------------  |

The case comes with 3 - 120 mm fans (2 front, 1 rear)
The processor is a Retail version - which means it comes with a fan and heatsink for the processor. The graphics card also has a fan built into it. The power supply comes with a 120 mm fan in it. Sounds like enough fans to me - just be sure to set the fans to provide good airflow throughout the case and you should be set. -------------------- - John
