Please help! I'm computer illiterate and I've looked at a bunch of forums, but nothing seems to help and I'm not sure what to do now... Btw, could this be a virus-related problem? I've noticed recently that my computer has been kind of slow, but I've ran my Norton and Ad-Aware and nothing was detected. |

YES the sound icon does show up on the taskbar. It's not on mute, but I know my sound works because when I restart my laptop I can hear the Windows start-up sound.
