Cd/dvd Burner Won't Work Properly

Cd/dvd Burner Won't Work Properly, It will only burn a few songs before it says theres an error.

We've actually burnt a few good ones, most of them burn a few songs and then on the last few either won't play or doesnt show up at all... the programs says there's an error and thats it. It will also only recognize one type of cd... memorex... it's a dvdrw drive but the dvds we've bought it wont recognize those either. I'm at a lose for what to do... I've got a HP Pavilion Slimline s7320n computer with a HP DVD Writer 740b. Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you.

Member Group: Members Posts: 149 Joined: 17-November 07 Member No.: 170,492	Google the drive. See if you can find recommendations for media model/type. brand How old is it. How much have you burned. I remember a mate made a calculated guesss that many burners will start to fail at 100 burns something. Just to give you an idea, they are not meant to work forever. I would look for an updated firmware. You probably need to run from dos. In any case I suggest you do. About the error. Try burn at a slower speed. You could try post that error. Hope it helps.
