Dvd Drive Not Working need to find out howe to get it to work

i am running the new windows vista and at first the dvd drive worked but then all of a sudden it quit working.i have tried to uninstall and then reload it but everytime it keeps saying that it is missing or corrupted. does anyone out there know how to fix this problem? any help with this would greatly be appreciated. thank you

In Device Manager, right-click on the drive and select Properties. Is there an error code that reads, "Windows successfully loaded the driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device (Code 41)"?
