What will the US think of this move? A slap in the face for Australian and US relations? We have had strong ties with the US in recent years with our former PM John Howard.....but the Labour Party is not so alligned the the US Government. What do you think? -------------------- |

They most probably will be pulled out and brought home. It will most probably take time of course and I don't see why the American's won't approve of this move either.

I was just wondering if that fit Bush's promise that by December 15, 2008, all American combat soldiers would be out of Iraq.
Be interesting to see which promise if either comes true. Alot of dying could happen in a year.

Here is a link to a Reuters article from Nov 16, 2007 - Senate Republicans bar Iraq withdrawal plan which shows that Bush would veto the Democrats plan to withdraw all troops by a set date, in this case 12/15/08. Perhaps you just read it wrong?
