So, I just found out about the Vista OS feature, Ready Boost. Has anyone used it yet? If so, how effective is it? I am really excited to try it out. Such a dramatic difference in price, buying 2 gigs of ddr2 or buying a 2 gig flash drive. I MUST KNOW. If anyone has in info, I'd appreciate it.

ReadyBoost will in no way substitute for physical RAM, it provides a cache for the pagefile, reducing hard-drive thrashing. But it will still be much faster to have the RAM, handling data at up to gigabytes (theoretically) per second, rather than a USB drive transferring at 60 megabytes per second (theoretically).

I pressed F5, and I'm feeling refreshed...

I briefly flirted with ReadyBoost back in the beta days of Vista and it helped a bit - but I didn't have a really fast flash drive at the time (but I only had 512 mB of RAM). I found it to be too much of a hassle for too little gain (had to plug/unplug it each time that I got the laptop out).

I also tried it once after I'd upgraded to 1 gB of RAM (and had tweaked the performance settings on the laptop) - but I didn't notice much difference so I stopped using it.
