@ Wassim I have been recently using the Group editor policy to limit applications That can be run under the users group. I have also been playing around with windows steady state using a combination of the two to lock down a troublesome computer that keeps getting infected.

@ Dachew Thanks again for the help, I could work on that tutorial using the information that you provided for me. It may be a few days until I get it done though.

Hi Grenler i would like to see a tutitorial about how to use Vcom's (Avenquest) Partition Commander 10
partitioning program, the documentation is very vague about how to resize a partition and how to redo a
external hard drive that was originally partitioned as being a Fat32 my preference is really NTFS.

sincerely

Seems like there is a lot of interest in group policy these days.
I don't know of a tutorial for this, as the use is usually by trained system administrators. I refer back to a book I have, windows registry guide from microsoft press when I need some information. These books are a bit pricey, but you might get a deal if you look around the online book stores.

Tutorial on creating different system folders which would be found and used when in My Computer. Is it really so that you have to use regedit?

Thank you.

Hello Darkcyko and welcome to Bleeping Computer! welcome.gif

From preliminary searches, I can tell you right away, you'll likely need more than just a tutorial. The file name itself is not enough to determine what all is going on so the best advice right now for you to make sure you are clean and safe is to follow the procedure outlined in this topic.
Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log

If you know what you need removed (the name of the infection, not the file name) you can also browse those two locations for specific removal instructions.

Although I highly suggest you follow the Prep Guide and get help from the HJT Team.

I recently set up my old computer as a wireless connection. Looked in the tutorials for something on how to set up and secure a wireless network. If it's there, I didn't see it.
If it's not there, how about something in plain simple easy to understand language on how to secure a wireless connection. Fortunately, I had guidance from someone to help me correctly set everything up. And it all worked flawlessly. No problems at all. Now my husband and I are both happy campers with our own computers. I graciously allowed him to have the old computer while I got the new one.

I know that I've seen a tutorial or E-book link on the subject of XP tweaking. But now that I have the time to mess with it I can't find it anywhere.

Any help?
Thanks in advance, thumbup2.gif
