Audio\video Snych leading or trailing soound\video

Have noticed recently most of the videos\movies I have downloaded have problems with the sync. Does anyone else have this problem? To my knowledge I have all the latest codecs. I am also using Vista. Doubt that is part of it but who knows. Anyone have any ideas or a simple way to correct the problem. Thanks in advance. Gator
