Help....please!!
I have a Sharp XE-A201 cash register which conects to my PC via the COM port. All of a sudden I cannot get a connection between my PC & the COM port! It began a while ago when I had windows XP. I had other PC issues but they all seemed to resolve themselves after upgrading my system to Vista. I have enabled my system to be able to view all devices including hidden ones & it does not show up at all. The thing is when I turn on my PC it 'awakens' the cash register from 'sleep mode' as it were (this hapens when the cash register isn't used for a while), but that's all so I'm thinking there MUST be some kind of info being sent back & forth. I even went as far as getting a new motherboard all to no avail.
Another thing is that my cash register workss fine on my DH's PC! Any suggestions? Oh I also noticed that I no longer have a COM port 2 & the C drive image is all messed up, not sure if these things have anything to do with my huge problem?
