Hey, I have also had some problems with Ad Aware 2007. I am using a dell laptop running Windows XP Media Center Edition, and whenever I start Ad Watch, my computer will run ok for about 5 to 10 minutes and then would freeze. I usually have to restart my computer to return back to what I was doing. Before I upgraded to 2007 Pro, I used the SE edition of Ad Aware with no problems. I don't know what to do except not turn on Ad Watch 2007.

Get rid of it and use something else like AVG Anti Spyware or Super Anti Spyware. If you check other threads, you'll notice that the experts here do not recommend Ad Aware 2007 because it's an unnecessary resource hog among other things. Yes, I know Ad Aware used to be good. It hasn't improved and other programs are better now. Suggestion to the BP moderators: we seem to get so many people complaining about Ad Aware & Spy Bot that maybe it's time to have a sticky outlining what the problems are with these programs along with the recommended alternatives.

I HATE Adware 2007. I just got rid of it, so what are some other options. I have AVG Free Edition.

Ok, thanks guys. I just changed to the SuperAntiSpyware version, and wow. I can't believe my computer starts up so much faster now. I really can tell a difference. No more Ad-Aware 2007 for me. Thanks
