I wish you would keep everything concerning one computer in one topic. I don't know about others but I'm getting totally confused. As long as the replacement has the same type of plugs and is rated at least the same wattage you'll be OK. If it's more wattage it won't hurt at all. Old AT form-factor power supplies had a mechanical on/off switch. ATX has the momentary switch such as yours. I don't believe your unit is old enough to worry about proprietary power supplies

Garmanma,

We are talking about a CP 4400US here in this thread, the other thread we were talking about a CP 5300US, if I didn't say so I apologize, anyway thanks for the reply !

Looks like I am gonna start it up !

Would you mind a question or two about the cables ?

First off the there is a loose 4 pin 2x2 hanging around that I believe in some computers might go to the MB,
I don't find a place for it.

Is there a certain order for connectors, such as a IDE 4 PIN , that are bundled together coming from the PSU,

and go to the CD-ROM and The HD, if so I have room for error that I would like to avoid.

These seem to be organized in one set of four wires, red yellow and two black center wires, and are inter connected one from the other.

No there's no certain order. Just what's more or less the best fit. Usually you will have some extra connectors that won't go to anything on your motherboard. most power supplies are not model specific. As long as you have all your power connections attached, you're good to go
