Ok I will try to give as much info as I can and still make this brief.
I have a
D-Link modem DCM-202
Linksys WRT54G v.5 Router
Comp A - XP Sp2 (Desktop)
Comp B - Vista HP (Laptop)
ISP - Comcast
Desktop connects to internet when plugged directly into modem (Ethernet)
If I connect the router, both computers get IP addresses however I can't connect to internet.
Laptop shows that it is connected (wireless) to router.
Desktop shows connected (ethernet) to router.
Under network and sharing center in Vista it shows the connection as local only (should say local and internet)
Any suggestions?

Try seeing if you can get the latest drivers for your router and cable modem. Also, on your router, does it show the internet sign blinking? Does your internet provider need a username and password to login? If so you need to configure it in your router. Give me an update, and I can walk ya through anything you need.

Hey Gyro
I appreciate the help but I just got done fixing it. The router was bad. I found out when I went to bring up the router admin page and the menu at the top was gone.
Thanks again for trying
