Is there any way to use a Sixaxis controller on an Ubuntu computer via usb? I'm interested in using it as a mouse and assigning the function keys, if possible.
A penguin broke my windows with a half-eaten apple!

Assuming you can build the drivers for it or find them, it is possible. Will do a little searching when I get home.

seems viable enough, assuming your running the 2.6.19 kernel or later (Fedora 7, Ubuntu Feisty/Gutsy all do) It appears that they should pick it up in USB mode as a HID device automagicly. Check out the info on these sites for ideas and post back with how you fared or where your stuck at.
