FWIW - you can run any executable file (and many others) from the Run dialog as long as the files are in the "Path" set in the Environmental Variables.
So, you can run .exe, .com, .bat, .msc, .cpl, .msi, and a boatload of others from the Run dialog. Now, if you type in the full path to the file that you want to launch, you can run almost anything that you want. Add to this the file associations options - and you can run a bunch of other stuff. For example - type "www.bleepingcomputer.com" (without the quotes) and you'll end up going to the BC home page. On a network you can even use the UNC name to navigate to places on your own network. -------------------- - John

I wrote a little program that allows you to define a custom command that points to any file or program on your computer. It does this by writing a batch file to the system32 folder.
You can download it here: http://www.boredomsoft.com/batchfilemaker.html -------------------- |
