Hard drive has gone bad. Repaced a Quatum IDE 13.5G hard drive w/ a Maxtor IDE 20G. Run FDISK and FORMAT.
Begin Windows 98 Setup. Windows runs till license agreement. Cannot get keyboard or mouse to accept agreement.
Any body knows what is happening. Thanks

Rude is unbecoming. Your statement leads me to believe your keyboard and mouse are not working. Since you have little faith in my willingness to assist you I will defer to another member.

Good luck.

Dusty, the last thing that you want to do is to tick off a moderator!

All standard PS/2 mice and keyboards will work with all Windows installations, Period!
You are either running a wireless device that connects via a PS2 port or a USB keyboard and mouse with a PS2 adapter.
One of the two.

Go to your local thrift store. Pick up a standard PS2 mouse and keyboard for maybe a buck each.
Try that. I bet you it works then
In the beginning there was the command line.

I have one of each. I have them pluged in in the correct ports. They both work well on my other computer.
I have a wireless but it is connected to my Dell 2400. When I first began working on this computer the first thing I did was buy a p/s2 Keyboard and mouse. I have run FDISK and Format C:.
I can begin installing windows 98 from an original 98 upgrade disk. I have the product key.
I have original window 95 to verify.
I bought both thes programs over time.

Did you check for bent pins?
In the beginning there was the command line.

For the heck of it, can you go into the BIOS and maneuver around there using the keyboard? Maybe restore default settings while you're there

Doesn't work in the BIOS either? The only other thing I can offer is have someone hold the plugs securely in place while you try it again. I had one connected to a heavy KVM switch cable that I had to tape and wedge in place. I can't think of anything else besides a motherboard replacement

If its a Win95 upgrade to Win98 then I would have thought you would have to install Win95 first.
