What happens if you go to Start>all programs and open it from there?

Which icon are you double-clicking?
Desktop, or Task Bar.
Double-clicking, or right-clicking, the Task Bar icon, should open it.

Use your mouse to right click an open area in the task bar. In the context list that popups up, select Task Manager. In the Process Tab, are these two processes showing?

sgmain.exe
sgbhp.exe

They are both related to Spywareguard and should be running.

That's your problem. sgmain.exe needs to be running at startup. Did you disable it by accident? If not, uninstall, then reinstall the program.

As Quietman suggested your problem probably stems from deleting the entry from your startup folder. I accidentally did this myself by just deleting it from the Startup folder in the Start Menu (Start < My Programs < Startup). On my computer (as far as I know) you need to see the Spyware.exe in the Startup folder for the program to actually start/work. Hope this helps.
