Since installing 2.0.0.8 automatically, my desktop has slowed to a crawl, literally taking minutes to load some pages, and nothing appears in the DOWNLOADS box. I have cleared out the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect.

Tried Opera 9.24 and it is lightning fast.

Any ideas??

That's strange Rob as I run it without any problems, what other stuff do you have running in start up?

Too much Wolfey. LOL, but it doesn't affect Opera.

Am starting to think that maybe StarDownloader is taking over from FF downloader, which doesn't depress me as it is an excellent downloader. Very quick and can open the Folder or run the download which is all I need anyway.

FF is now back up to speed so things must be sorting themselves out.

Cheers

Thanks TMacK.

Updated to 2.0.0.9 a while ago but the 'instantly clearing' download box was driving me nuts. LOL. It was as though the 'Cleanup button' was stuck on.
In desperation, and having no idea what I was doing, went into about:config / download, and found Download Manager Retention - reset this to default and VOILA, all fixed.

Lucky stab, but feeling quite pleased with myself  .
