S-video Connection To Tv

I am trying to watch movies on tv from my laptop via s-video. The only thing I see is my background; no icons, no taskbar, and it will not refresh. I have windows xp home.

its probably because the width and height of your screen are too big for the tv ur using, on r laptop get to what u wanna do click enter then hit Fn then whatever button to switch over to s-video.have the same prob with my desktop andthe vga to tv converter.
