BleepingComputer.com: Internet Options - Advanced - Empty!

It all started when today for the first time - when I tried to view a video on youtube I got the message:
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player." I tried to turn ON my JavaScript by going to:

Tools

Internet Options

Advanced

---------------

When I went to advanced it was blank!!

What do I do??

This might help you with the blank Advanced problem: Internet Explorer "Advanced" tab is blank?. [EDIT: Please read quietman7's post before proceeding with method 1]

As to enable Javascript in Internet Explorer...

Go to Tools > Internet Options > click on the Security tab > Click on Custon Level > Scroll down to Scripting section > click Enable

Method 1 involves making changes in the registry. Always back up your registry before making any changes. If you are not familiar with working in the registry, then you should NOT attempt to make any changes on your own. Improper changes to the registry could adversely affect your computer and render it inoperable.

ERUNT is an excellent FREE tool that allows you to to take a snapshot (backup) of your registry before making changes and restore it when needed.
