Hello there. I have several MP3 files which simply will not play. I have tried Windows Media, Irfanview, and Winamp, but these files stubbornly refuse to play. I have also tried using a repair tool on them to no effect. Any suggestions?

Depends where you got them. If they were obtained through a filesharing application many of them are corrupted, often deliberately to put people off using such applications. These files cannot be repaired. Just dump them.

I'm not sure of their origin, they just turned up in my inbox. I did sign up for newsletter at a site advertising CDs so perhaps that was the route to my mail inbox. Anyway, I have now deleted them.
