are there any antivirus software downloads available worth actually downloading? I would rather go with a free one since money is tight. Thanks

Hi Victoria...

Take a look at this Topic: Freeware Replacements For Common Commercial Apps

The first item is free anti-virus software. I personally use AVG, and Avast (On different computers of course). They have both served me well. Be sure to check out the anti-spyware and firewall software as well.

Hope this helps...

I have never had a mayor problem with Avast and I have been using it for maybe 5 years now.

I've used AVG and Comodo (free), along with paid versions of NIS, Panda Internet, and McAfee. They all worked, even McAfee.

Key thing to to remember: An AV program is only a part of a computer security profile (firewall, malware prevention, safe computing practices, etc. all contribute).
