BleepingComputer.com: Problem With Connecting External Speakers To Lap Top

Hi, I have a Acer Aspire 3050 1908 Lap top with Windows XP
I can hear music from the laptop speakers but when I plug in my little PC speakers they aren't picking up the sound. The speakers are OK, I used them with my portable DVD player. Is there a setting I can change? I'm a little baffled since the speakers are usually plug an play.

Are u plugging them into the headphone jack or the line out?

You should make sure that you are using the correct jack first of all.

You'll probably need to find the correct output setting in the Properties for your sound. On my Compaq with XP, I right-click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and choose Adjust Audio Properties. There's an Advanced button in the Speaker Settings section. It will be a bit different on different systems. We had the same thing a you have on a friend's Asus with Vista - a few months ago so I forget exactly but the requirement was the same, change the output setting in the sound properties.
