If the sims 2 is still gonna crash i can't get the new "University" expansion pack.
Do i need more ram? i have 512mb but XP uses half of it, so would i need another 512mb ram to allow for expansion pack? or would it be video or something?

512 MB of ram should be more than enough to run the game. Usually game related problems are driver issues. I would check to see if there is a new driver for your sound and video card. Also check to see if there are any new updates for the game itself.
