BleepingComputer.com: Mcafee Internet Suite 2007

Hi to all,
am having numerous problems with my PC but this one is particularly annoying as I have only just bought the latest McAfee suite(OEM type) and was hoping for some peace. All seemed fine but then 2or 3 days ago a little yellow icon appeared in my taskbar saying my pC is not protected. When I clicked on it I tried to fix the problem as laid out in the window but keeps saying no updates available, yet is saying that the detection signature file is between 8 and 29 days old.I found a few related items, these mentioned adjusting registry keys but I didn't want to do that if I could help it, although I had a look into the registry in regedit.I did notice in services.msc that in the list shown, McAfee update manager had been stopped and set to manual; I changed this to start and set it to automatic but every time I go back to the list it is manual again and stopped. Can anyone help???

Have you tried updating through McAfee?
Just out of curiosity what version of McAfee do you have?
When you say "suite" I assume Internet Security Suite? or do you mean Total Protection?

I had this same problem since September and uninstalled and reinstalled 3-4 times following the tedious instructions and the last time it upgraded me to ver 8. I did get 1 update. I don't think they update on weekends.
