Hey,

I have just installed Ubuntu 7.10 Server Beta on a Virtual PC using VirtualBox and it comes up with the message:

'Starting up ...
PANIC: CPU too old for this kernel'

I have a Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor and my laptop is new!

Why is this error coming up?

Thanks

This is most likely a VirtualBox issue. VirtualBox emulates a whole other machine inside your current one (CPU and all). I cannot currently find the CPU emulation settings but will check around and see if I can.
