It's beta software - and, if you install it, you'll see what beta means! 
I've installed it on 3 systems so far - an unmodified Gateway only a couple of months old, a Toshiba that wasn't designed with Vista in mind, and a Desktop clone that I built myself (MSI mobo). My experiences with the installation routine haven't been very good - but that's what I expect from beta software. I would wait to install this until it reaches RC1.
That being said, I haven't noticed any stability issues with it on the machines that I installed it on - but I've only had it installed for 2 days and haven't had much of an opportunity to work with it.
